Anyone who has ever read about celebrities partying in Miami automatically thinks about South Beach. Beautiful beaches, eclectic hotels reminiscent of a calmer earlier lifestyle, and great food all put South Beach on every vacationer’s itinerary.
However, South Beach is not your typical beach paradise. If you are looking for beachfront property where you run out your back door and jump into the waves, South Beach won’t be for you. South Beach is, however, a dream come true for anyone who wants to combine high rise luxury with all the amenities that South Beach offers.
Most of the condos on South Beach are indeed in multiple story or high rise buildings. You won’t be finding quaint townhouses or many single homes in this location (except for the Versace Mansion). There is an entire array of options to choose from as well as a broad range of prices. There are condos here for anyone, no matter what.
The majority of condos on South Beach are actually smaller units, two bedrooms, about 900 square feet. They aren’t all that elaborate. Certain neighborhoods tend to focus on specific income levels.
For instance, the famous Collins Drive is so long that it encompasses all types of possibilities from something that might resemble your college dorm room, to something suitable for a Hollywood celebrity.
Not all condo buildings are actually on the beach. You might be able to see the beach, but there is actually a very limited area that is might be accessible to you, if at all. Some of the beach front is private – meaning if you don’t live in that particular building, you would be trespassing if you entered the property. For instance, if you live across the street from a particular portion of the beach, don’t assume you have the right to go there.
Before deciding on what condo might be right for you, decide on the amenities you must have before heading to escrow. Beachfront property doesn’t necessarily mean you get the beach too!
